About TIPS
Teens In Public Service (TIPS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers youth, ages 15-19, rewarding and life changing work in the form of paid community service internships.
Mission Statement: Teens in Public service is a not for profit organization located in Seattle, Washington dedicated to producing future leaders committed to their communities. TIPS employs teen leaders and lends them to charitable organizations.
Needs: There is a need to cultivate a sense of social responsibility and awareness in our youth. There is a need to provide a stable work force to assist the community service agencies.
Goals: To cultivate postitve work ethics. To provide a fufilling work experience. To benefit the community. To promote a spirit of giving that will last a lifetime. To create caring, compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
TIPS believes that by engaging young people in their communities today, we can produce a generation of leaders who are socially conscious and dedicated to service.
The TIPS interns gain much more than a summer paycheck; they develop job and leadership skills while our non-profit partners receive extra support to help deliver needed services to our communities.
TIPS matches the interests and skills of each teen with the needs of one of our partnering non-profit organizations. TIPS interns work with the homeless, tutor at-risk youth, care for the environment, gain hands-on experience in health and human services, and provide educational opportunities to disadvantaged children.
