Teens In Public Service (TIPS) is off to a great start so far in 2012! Please read “A Letter from the Executive Director” to learn more about what is happening with TIPS!

In addition to supporting the valuable work of teen interns, your investment in TIPS stretches well into the local community, as we work to also enrich the vital missions of our more than 50 local non-profit partner organizations. TIPS interns can often serve as critical lifelines for these organizations, which otherwise may not be able to support employed staff. In fact, a supervisor at one of our partner organization said the following about her 2011 summer intern:
“The TIPS intern joined our team when we were facing budget cuts and staff shortages and her help has been critical to ensuring continued support to families who rely on our day services. Through her extraordinary compassion, creativity, and ability to take the initiative, our clients are receiving the highest quality of care at our North Seattle adult day health care center. She fits in like one of the long time staff members.”

How can I support TIPS?
Financial contributions are always welcome! TIPS is funded 100% by donations and grants. We keep our overhead to a minimum, allowing us to focus our funds on the teen program with 91 cents of every dollar spent on the internships.
- Sponsor an intern: You can make a difference in a young leader’s life and help a local non-profit by sponsoring a TIPS internship. A donation of $2,400 sponsors a part-time TIPS intern and $3,300 will sponsor a full-time teen participant for a summer.
- Mail-In Donations: Donating is easy. Your fully tax deductible contribution can be mailed to our address in the sidebar.
- Donate in-kind services or materials: Currently, TIPS is seeking a projector, video camera, and is always in need of space to host events.
- Online Donation: You can also donate online using either PayPal (via the donate button at the right) or JustGive
- Employer Match: Employer matched gifts double your donation to TIPS and many companies participate in these programs. Check with your human resources department to inquire on process and forms.
- Securities: Give through a gift of stock via our Charles Schwab account. Please call our office for further assistance.
