“Before I applied to TIPS,
I had a job scooping ice cream.
I knew I needed to be making some money for college, but I wanted to spend my summer
doing something more
meaningful. TIPS has given
me the opportunity to do something that will make a difference and also strengthen
my future goals. Thank you for supporting the program, it really does change lives, create leaders and help the entire community.”
Naomi, 2004 TIPS intern

How can I support TIPS?
Financial contributions are always welcome! TIPS is funded 100% by donations and grants. We keep our overhead to a minimum, allowing us to focus our funds on the teen program with 91 cents of every dollar spent on the internships.

1. Sponsor an intern:
You can make a difference in a young leader's life and help a local non-profit by sponsoring a TIPS internship. A donation of $2,500 sponsors a part-time TIPS intern and $3,000 will sponsor a full-time teen participant for a summer.

2. Donations:
Donating is easy. Your fully tax deductible contribution can be sent to:

You can also donate online with a credit card or a PayPal account. Click on the Make a Donation button to get started

"I know without your financial contribution, TIPS would be unable to hire interns, and if it were not for the pay I wouldn't have spent my summer at the food bank. You see my family is by definition "severely low income". I had to get a "real" job this summer simply to help pay for my own family's housing, transportation, and yes food. We were formally regulars at a food bank, and that food bank still helps us get by every now and then. My summer with Northwest Harvest has meant so much to me because I have been a client at a food bank, receiving handouts from volunteers. It was wonderful to feel like I was helping people the way others have helped me." –2004 intern

3. Can Your Gift be Matched?

Double your donation to Teens In Public Service by checking with your company and see if your donation can be matched.  If you are retired or work at a company that matches your gift, your contribution will go twice as far.  Just provide TIPS with the matching gift form supplied by your company and we will do the rest.  The form usually can be obtained from Human Resources Department, Division Management or if your company has a foundation office.  Once we receive the matching funds, your company will be notified.Below you will find a list of known companies that could match gifts to TIPS. If your company is not listed, ask in your Human Resources office. If your company matches gifts and is not listed, please contact us at and we will add them to the list.
